An Underwater-Themed Bedroom

Many scientists consider the ocean to be the last frontier on Earth. Underneath the seas is a huge unexplored world of natural wonders that easily rival those that can be found aboveground. But do not worry because you do not have to risk your life to see the mysterious underwater animals, plants, and landscapes. You can portray the beautiful world beneath the waves right in your own room with these creative suggestions.

Paint your walls with a blue-green colour. If you or a household member has an artistic flair, create the illusion of depth by applying dark blue to the bottom part of the wall. Then, gradually lighten the hue until you get to the area where the wall meets the ceiling.
Paint colourful seahorses, turtles, kelps, jellyfish, and other aquatic life forms on your azure wall. If you do not have the talent for painting, you can use notebook stickers that depict aquatic life. You can find these easily in school-supply stores. Alternatively, if you have colourful old swimsuits, you can cut these into fish shapes and stick them up the wall.
Another great idea is to place an aquarium, which could range from a small fish bowl to a large tank, in your room. This is an alternative to the green potted plants that many people use to provide their sleeping spaces with some life.
Check out home décor stores for lamps. Look for one with a shade that features cut-outs of fish and other marine life. At night, when you turn it on, the shade will rotate. The light projecting from the revolving cut outs creates a spectacular show of fish “swimming” around your walls.

Finally, you can add other things that enhance the theme of your bedroom such as figurines of aquatic life, stuffed sea character toys, or green or blue sheets and pillow covers.
